"I think the idea is great but really have gotten no use out of the pen. I have an older phone and the app just doesnt work consistently. It took many tries to pair and I have yet to be able to export a 3d curve(the main reason I wanted it). This would be a great tool for me to get rough curves of objects like car fenders. I hope the app gets fixed or updated as I think the idea has potential!"

"Measured a 5in wide 3d curve and it imports to SolidWorks 2018 as a 168in wide curve in DXF format. STEP files are invisible when imported to SolidWorks 2018. Therefore the only 2 export formats don't work. Absolutely useless to me at this point for a 200$ measuring instrument. I will update my review if this problem is ever fixed."

"Hate to write bad reviews but should warn fellow Pixel 2 owners. This does not pair with my Pixel 2 or borrowed Sony xperia compact. Tried for half an hour, red light flashes and turned solid, but won't connect. Killed app, restart, same thing, excitement turned into an hour of exercise in frustration. Not sure if I received a defective unit or this version of app is unstable. Either way, without a smartphone, this is a pretty but useless piece of instrument."

"When is the pro app coming out? Without it this pen has minimal use in everyday life. A tape measure is much faster."

"I just unboxed my new 01 and did a few sample measurments. The instrument and the app seem to work together well so far. I really wish the PRO app was out as much of what I plan to use this for will require the additional functionality"

"Summery of the pen. Great for designing, not for making. Depending for well you can draw a straight line you can get an accuracy of around +/- 1mm for smaller objects and the number increases as the size of the object increases. The pen is a great drawing tool and very handy when you want to know the scale of the thing you are trying to design. Definitely recommend it if you can afford the steep price tag. Still waiting for the pro app but when it comes out and if it does do what they have promised you can more easily justify the price of this investment, which is likely to last a long time."
